Voting

That Morthos Stare writes:

So, I can no longer, in good conscience, vote for the Labour Party. I'm not going to cross over to the Right, so that leaves out National, ACT, the Libz, New Zealand First, United Future, Gordon Copeland's Untitled Party of the Future Christian Heritage of Latter Day Saints and Vicars, Destiny and the others.

I like a lot of the Green MPs but don't like the actual party, and Jimbo is, I think, dead and simply put on display by the current Government (has he done anything recently?). The Maori Party voted against the Civil Union Bill (and as a Civil Union Minister that offends me)...

Gah.

Who am I going to vote for next year?

Bloody Labour Government abandoning its principles and clinging to power. Believe me, if National get in next election I'm blaming the Labour Party.

Gah.

Let's face it, you were always too much of an independent thinker to vote "in good conscience" for the Labour Party.

Admit it to yourself, you've always been a libertarian at heart. :-)

It's a worry alright. Can't vote for the party that legislated a retrospective decriminalisation of itself and gave us the Electoral Finance Bill & Suppression of Terrorism Act. But the Greens are overly given to loony scaremongering, especially when they let Kedgely in front of the cameras. The leftist too slack to get off his arse and engage in political activism himself is running out of options.

Morthos, Morthos, Morthos. Never *EVER* underestimate the incompetence of the National Party.

Your beloved left wing, power hungry and unprincipled as they are, still stand a good chance of remaining.

I too would be without a box to tick if there was an election held tomorrow :-(

I'm just hoping that someone decides to add a 'none of the above' box, otherwise I'll have nothing to tick.

I've never really had a party to vote for, my views are far too spread out. The thing I finally realise about the green party is that I don't actually have to agree with any of their policies to justify voting for them. Their mere presence in government forces the larger parties to take climate change seriously, which just happens to be the most pressing issue for me.
